Pastoral Mentorship — Center for Community Change

The Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Andrews University
Effective date: June 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Pastoral Mentorship application and website (collectively, “the Service”) collect, use, share, and protect your information. The Service is operated by the Center for Community Change at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Andrews University (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

         •        Account and profile information you provide: name, email address, phone number, church or ministry name, conference, and city/state.

         •        Mentorship program data you create in the Service: assessment responses (such as the Personal Ministry Plan and Christ Method Alone assessments), session notes, goals, scheduled meetings, and messages exchanged with your mentor, mentee, or program administrators.

         •        Google account information, if you sign in with Google or connect your Google Calendar: your name and email address, and an authorization token that allows the Service to add your scheduled mentoring sessions to your calendar.

         •        Technical information necessary to operate the Service, such as authentication tokens and basic device/browser information.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to operate and improve the mentorship program, including to:

         •        Pair mentors with mentees and manage mentorship relationships;

         •        Deliver session content, assessments, and progress tracking;

         •        Enable messaging between participants;

         •        Create and update calendar events for the mentoring sessions you schedule, if you have connected Google Calendar; and

         •        Maintain the security and integrity of the Service.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Google Calendar Access and Limited Use

When you sign in with Google or connect your calendar, the Service requests the Google Calendar “events” permission (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events). The Service uses this permission solely to create and update the calendar events for mentoring sessions you schedule. The Service does not read your existing calendar entries and does not access any other person’s calendar.

The Service’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements, and we do not transfer or sell Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the Service’s features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.

4. How Information Is Shared

Within the mentorship program, mentors can view the mentorship data of mentees paired with them, and program administrators can view program data for oversight purposes. We do not otherwise share your personal information except:

         •        with service providers that host or support the Service on our behalf (see Section 5); or

         •        when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.

5. Storage and Security

The Service stores data using Supabase, our database and authentication provider, with access controls (row-level security) that restrict each user to their own data and the data their role permits. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the mentorship program. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information — including disconnecting Google Calendar access — by contacting us using the details in Section 9. You can also revoke the Service’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account security settings (“Third-party apps with account access”).

7. Children

The Service is intended for pastors, mentors, and program administrators and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice within the Service.
